"Bright, comfortable guest rooms—some of them recently renovated—have cheery yellow paintings and relaxing earthly hues." Full review

About a dozen rooms look toward the Acropolis: ask for Rooms 401–405 for the best views.
"This sleek modernised hotel offers an attractive combination of contemporary style and an old-fashioned welcome. ... The rooms are attractive, with big comfortable beds." Full review

The only issue is traffic noise from busy Syngrou; you're better off as high as possible, and on the front (Falirou St) side of the hotel if you're a light sleeper.
"In an excellent central location, walking distance to the Acropolis (10 minutes on foot) and a variety of good cafes and bustling but pleasant shopping streets, this is an older staple with a new look." Full review

"Rooms are compact and basic in style, but comfortable and modern enough for tourists looking for a pleasant place to sleep... many have private balconies." Full review

"Just around the corner from its sister hotel, the Herodion, the Philippos shares its good qualities: a quiet location convenient to the Acropolis and friendly, efficient service." Full review
"Philippos offers small, well-appointed rooms near the Acropolis." Full review
"The Philippos, sister hotel of the Herodion around the corner, is probably better for families as there are many quad rooms."

"Three-star sister hotel to the Herodion... the Philippos was completely renovated for the 2004 Olympics, though the interior is much less dramatic than the new facade."
"In a sedate residential neighborhood two blocks from its sibling...this family-run hotel is, like its relative, an inviting small operation in a surprisingly quiet and convenient location." Full review
