The 9 most authentic Irish pubs in Dublin

While most people know that Ireland is the home of Guinness, it can be difficult to spot an authentic Irish bar from touristic blarney in the Irish capital.

Visitors to the Dublin are often bombarded with an endless supply of so-called ‘Irish pubs’ when visiting the capital. But all too often these supposed traditional drinking haunts offer little more than a tourist trap dressed up a garish leprechaun green. In some cases, visitors will find that the bar staff are actually the only Irish people on the premises which leaves many wondering where to sample a traditional Irish pub.

But don’t worry,  the city is packed with charming traditional beer houses to suit all tastes.

Here’s our guide to some of the most authentic pubs on offer in the Irish capital.
